Role Overview:
The General Manager, Market Operations will oversee a high-impact, seven-day-a-week operation. This role encompasses market operating costs, vehicle inventory control and reconciliation, vehicle logistics, member experience, service and repair, and vehicle infleeting and defleeting. A market for Flexcar may be a stand-alone city, or include multiple cities. The role oversees all operations for a variable-sized fleet and takes ownership of all site activities and processes.

What You’ll Do:
  • Strategic Leadership: Take fiscal responsibility for the P&L of all locations within your market, proposing strategies to enhance site profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Performance Ownership: Total ownership of all site operations metrics, including available inventory, unavailable inventory, service inventory, inventory dwell time, registration hold, and other relevant metrics. 
  • Team Management: Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet business demands while adhering to budget guidelines; motivate and develop your team through regular feedback and performance reviews.
  • Vendor Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with vendors to optimize costs and improve turnaround times.
  • Innovation Driver: Lead pilot initiatives, providing valuable insights and constructive feedback to the leadership team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Create and analyze reports to assess site metrics, identify gaps, and implement action plans for improvement.
  • C-Level Engagement: Collaborate effectively with senior leadership, communicating clearly and concisely to drive strategic initiatives.

What Drives Success for This Role:
  • Experience: 7-10 years of operations management, preferably in vehicle operations/service; prior P&L ownership experience is a plus.
  • Educational Background: MBA preferred, Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or related fields is advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate across all levels of leadership and with cross-functional teams, including facilities, real estate, and product teams.
  • Flexibility & Resilience: Willingness to cover all operational hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business demands.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to carry tools and equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to all locations within the market as needed.
