Role Overview:
We are seeking a Contracts Attorney to join our legal team for approximately 20 hours per week. This position is an independent contractor role and will receive a 1099 at the end of the year. This role offers flexibility with remote work and occasional onsite collaboration at any of our locations, including corporate our Boston corporate headquarters. As a Contracts Attorney, you will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and drafting various contracts, analyzing legal documents, and supporting the legal department in various functions, including legal research. This position is ideal for someone looking to re-enter the legal field after a career pause and seeking a flexible work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, analyze, edit, negotiate, draft, and summarize a wide range of corporate contracts, including but not limited to:
    • Term sheets
    • Letter of Intent
    • Real estate lease agreements
    • Master service agreements
    • Marketing partnership agreements
    • Employment agreements
    • Vendor agreements
    • Technology agreements
    • Customer agreements
  • Assist the VP of Legal with legal compliance, research, and document preparation.
  • Provide general legal support across various projects as needed, including assisting with internal legal inquiries and drafting correspondence.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Participate in periodic onsite meetings and collaborative efforts.


Qualifications:
 
  • JD (Juris Doctor) preferred; Paralegal certification considered.
  • 5-10 years of experience in contract review and legal document analysis.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law and legal agreements.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Schedule:
 
  • Hours per week may vary from 10-20 hours.
  • Remote work, with occasional onsite work.
