A  Mechanical Operations Coordinator (MOC) at Flexcar plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient service operations, with a strong focus on managing out-of-service (OOS) inventory, coordinating daily tasks, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will develop expertise in all service areas, such as automotive parts, fleet inventory control, out-of-service vehicle management, reconditioning, and lifecycle management. You will also ensure OOS inventory is tracked effectively and ensure progress through repair stages is monitored and reported by coordinating individual workloads and dispatch teams, including Operations Specialists, Member Concierges, or Service teams, to prioritize and complete tasks. You will focus on vehicles requiring service, ensuring timely return to inventory and utilize inventory tracking tools and operational systems to monitor OOS vehicles, manage service timelines, and optimize repair workflows in order to maximize fleet availability. This position works under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager or General Manager, providing them regular updates on shop efficiency and OOS inventory progress. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Proactively Manage Inventory: Identify and address bottlenecks in repair and service processes to maximize inventory availability. Advocate for OOS vehicles, ensuring proactive efforts to minimize downtime and return vehicles to active service. 

  • Daily Success Metrics: Monitor and report daily shop efficiency, ensuring OOS vehicles meet repair timelines and are promptly returned to the fleet. 

  • Lead 5S Methodology: Implement and lead the 5S methodology to organize service areas, ensuring tools, parts, and processes support efficient operations. 

  • Customer Service Excellence: Assist customers on-site or through direct coordination with remote Customer Care teams, ensuring their needs are met seamlessly. 

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with vendors, Loss Prevention, and internal teams to expedite repairs and maintain accurate inventory records, including timely return of parts and cores.

  • Willingness to work outdoors (weather and other conditions vary)   

  • Ability to carry tools and marketing materials (up to 50 lbs.)  

  • Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record (per company standards)
