Job Summary
The Cleaning Coordinator runs a crew of cleaners who wash and detail every car before it goes to a member. You decide what each car needs, plan the day around upcoming pickups, check the work, and keep the crew staffed, trained, and productive.
This is a working supervisor role. Most of the day is on the lot, and you cover a station yourself when the crew is short. Success is measured on three things: cars cleaned to the Flexcar standard within the standard time, crew efficiency of 85% or better, and low voluntary turnover on the crew.

Job Summary
The Cleaning Coordinator runs a crew of cleaners who wash and detail every car before it goes to a member. You decide what each car needs, plan the day around upcoming pickups, check the work, and keep the crew staffed, trained, and productive.
This is a working supervisor role. Most of the day is on the lot, and you cover a station yourself when the crew is short. Success is measured on three things: cars cleaned to the Flexcar standard within the standard time, crew efficiency of 85% or better, and low voluntary turnover on the crew.
What You Will Do
- Build the daily clean list from upcoming orders so cars are ready ahead of their appointments, and sequence exterior wash and interior detail so neither station waits.
- Grade every car at intake as Light, Medium, or Heavy interior detail against the Flexcar standard; the coordinator sets the level, not the cleaner.
- Inspect finished cars before release, send back rework, and flag damage, warning lights, or items left in the car for the site team.
- Keep vehicles moving safely on the lot and the ready line organized.
- Hire, train, and certify cleaners on the exterior and interior standards, the time standards, and safe use of chemicals and equipment.
- Write the weekly schedule, manage attendance and time off, and control overtime.
- Coach daily, share each cleaner’s efficiency and quality numbers weekly, and handle performance and conduct issues with People Operations.
- Run a crew people stay in: fair schedules, clear expectations, and recognition for good work.
- Own inventory and ordering for chemicals, towels, and detail supplies, and keep equipment in working order.
- Keep the wash bay and detail area clean and organized; enforce chemical handling, PPE, and site safety rules.
- Log every car cleaned with its level, cleaner, and time, and produce the weekly report on volume, efficiency, rework, and supply spend.
- Reconcile cleaning volume to orders each week and review the level mix with the General Manager.
What Success Looks Like
- Every car released to the ready line meets the standard the first time; rework and cleanliness complaints are rare.
- Cars are completed within their standard time and ready before their appointment.
- Crew efficiency (standard hours earned divided by paid hours) is at or above 85% each week.
- Voluntary attrition on the crew is low and open positions are filled from a pipeline you keep warm.
What You Bring
- Two or more years leading an hourly crew in vehicle detailing, car wash, fleet or rental lot operations, or dealership reconditioning.
- Hands-on skill in exterior washing and interior detailing, and the ability to teach it.
- Experience scheduling hourly staff and managing attendance, overtime, and performance.
- Comfortable keeping records on a phone or tablet and in a spreadsheet and acting on a daily report.
- High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record for the past three years; able to drive and park a range of vehicles.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather, stand for a full shift, and lift up to 50 pounds; weekend, holiday, and overtime availability as the business requires.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
- A habit of walking the line and fixing problems at the station, not on the ready line.
- Judgment on what a car actually needs, and the confidence to grade it Light when it is Light.
- Steady, fair leadership of an hourly crew. People know where they stand with you and want to stay.
- Ownership of the numbers: you know your crew’s efficiency this week and why.
- Composure when the day goes sideways: a broken pressure washer, two call-outs, and a busy Saturday.
