Operations Manager I - Service 

Location: Stone Mountain, GA (Onsite) 
 

The Service Manager is responsible for the inbound operations side of the business, including vehicle inventory control and reconciliation, ensuring vehicles move through the return and repair process within company goals, managing a team of technicians and parts associates, vehicle key security and auditing, all hiring and terminations as well as developing your associates through performance management and consistent feedback.  

What you’ll do:  

  • Fiscally responsible management of service labor and parts cost buckets of the operations P&L  

  • Total ownership of all vehicle service and inventory operations metrics, including available inventory, unavailable inventory, service inventory, inventory dwell time, parts cost and parts inventory shrink control.  

  • Creates, implements, and maintains a system of vehicle key security and auditing. 

  • Performs daily fleet scan and reconciliation as well as quarterly inventory audits 

  • Prioritizes needs of the business and steps in to help wherever necessary, leads from out in front of a team instead of in an office. 

  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate staffing levels for service techs and parts associates. Can anticipate demand and adjust quickly while remaining within budget guidelines.  

  • Ensures vehicle returns are processed within 30 minutes of their arrival on site.  

  • Accountable for photo compliance, ensuring all vehicles have quality photos captured, uploaded, and approved in our internal system.  

  • Builds relationships with vendors to drive costs down and improve turnaround times. 

  • Actively manage and engage the technician and parts associates, conduct daily/weekly/monthly department meetings and consistent one-on-one associate development sessions.  

  • Consistently communicates vehicle status (when necessary) with the CS&L manager to ensure vehicles are ready for our members as promised 

  • Ensures all service and parts-related invoices are submitted correctly through Flexcar’s billing system. 

  • Ensures associate time is logged accurately and audit associate timecards weekly prior to pay period close. 

  • Adhere to Flexcar’s Attendance Policy, and holds team accountable when needed.  

What Drives Success for This Role 

  • 3-5 years of operations management background, preferably in vehicle operations/service. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or similar fields preferred but not required. 

  • Understanding of 6S and Gemba methodology. 

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to review raw data for trends. 

  • Ability to cover all hours of the business, including evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays is required. 

  • Willingness to work outdoors (weather and other conditions vary)   

  • Ability to carry tools and equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
